INTRODUCTION

  • This is a primary education syllabus volume Two that consist of mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Christian religious education, Islamic Religious education and Hindu religious education that was constituted in 2002

National Goals of Education

  1. Foster nationalism, patriotism and promote national unity
  2. promote social economic, technological and industrial needs for national development
  3. Promote Individual development and self-fulfillment
  4. Promote sound moral and religious values
  5. Promote social equality and responsibility
  6. Promote respect for and development of Kenya's rich and varied cultures
  7. Promote international consciousness and foster positive attitudes towards other nations
  8. promote positive attitudes towards good health and environmental protection.

Objectives of Primary education in Kenya

primary education provides the learner with the opportunity to:

  1. Acquire literacy, numeracy, creativity and communication skills
  2. Enjoy learning and develop desire to continue learning
  3. Develop ability for critical thinking and logical judgement
  4. Appreciate and respect the dignity of work
  5. Develop desirable social standards, moral and religious values
  6. develop into a self disciplined, physically fit and health person
  7. Develop Aesthetic values and appreciated own and other people's culture
  8. Develop awareness and appreciation of the environment
  9. Develop the awareness of and appreciation for other nations and international community
  10. Instill respect and love for own country and the need for harmonious co-existence
  11. Develop individual talents
  12. Promote social responsibility and make proper use of leisure time
  13. Develop awareness and appreciation of the role of technology in national development
